April is almost here, and here are a few of our programs that are coming soon:

On Wednesday, April 4th at 7pm, Raven Albertson and Julia Iverson return for another nutrition class - This one will be entitled "Pantry to Plate". Don't we all need help figuring out meals from what we have in the pantry! The fun thing about Raven & Julia's classes is that besides lots of great information, they always have healthy samples!

On Monday, April 9th at 7pm, we'll have College Night. Lori Rowland, VP of Identity and Privacy Strategies for Gartner, Inc. will present "Protecting Your Digital Footprint in an Online World". Lori Advises Fortune 1000 companies on how to protect people and information online. Come for an informative evening!

Sunday, March 11, 2012

Please note that one of our programs that was originally planned for this week has been rescheduled.
We listed in the city newsletter that "So You Want to Read Chaucer" would be Thursday, March 15th. Due to the caucus meetings that will be held that night, we have rescheduled for Tuesday, March 27th at 7pm.
It will be fun evening as BYU Associate Professor Zina Petersen takes us on a journey through The Canterbury Tales and other Medieval writings by the Father of English Literature!
Each month we will explore genres, authors and specific works you may be thinking about diving into. Let us convince you to go for it!

For the first quarter of the year, the Springville Library will be offering a wellness program : “Healthy Start – 2012”. We want to help all of us have a healthy new year. Each month, we will offer a nutrition class and an exercise class.
January’s nutrition class was Wednesday, January 4th at 7:00pm. Entitled “Kick the Diet, Keep the Resolution”, we learned about the new My Plate and how it can help you to eat healthy the right way. Raven Albertson & Julia Iverson – certified nutrition educators from USU’s Food$ense Extension program, were our instructors. They will be back on the first Wednesday of each month with another class for us!
January’s exercise class will be Zumba taught by Desree Bennett of Super Fitness. Join Desree here at the Library on Wednesday, January 18th at 7:00pm. Have you heard about Zumba and want to try it? Now is your chance! Come for a fun, energizing work-out!
For more details about our “Healthy Start – 2012” program, please pick up an instruction sheet at the adult information desk. We encourage you to come to each of the nutrition and exercise classes that will be offered monthly. If you come to at least 3 of the 6 classes and complete a short form, you can be entered in a prize drawing at the end of March.
